Green Valley West Homeowners and the community will establish trust and depend on the Board of Directors because of our commitment to them and to the standards to which we hold ourselves. We alone are responsible for upholding our excellence and integrity. This means acting responsibly in all our professional and personal dealings with community activities, in a manner consistent with the high standards we set forth in our business conduct.
Upholding standards of business conduct is not enough. We are also responsible for maintaining ethical standards. These standards govern how we treat everyone with whom we have contact. These are standards of integrity, honesty, trust, respect, fair play and teamwork. We believe that if we uphold this behavior as a Board of Directors this will reflect our commitment and values to our community and its people who live here.
We are committed to providing open, free and effective communication to all Board Members and Homeowners. These methods may include a newly designed web site, front entrance sign, quarterly newsletters and monthly meetings with opportunity for Homeowners to share ideas to promote synergy and realize greater potential for the community.
We are committed to providing an environment in which all Board Members and Homeowners are afforded the respect that they deserve, free of any discrimination or harassment. No discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or marital status. We will maintain a community that reflects open opportunity where everyone is advantaged by diverse potential.
It is our goal to provide our Homeowners community leadership to manage the day-to-day activities in the community and judgment to make decisions on improvements to increase the value on their investments. At the same time, we must be sure to protect the reputation of our community so that the Board of Directors can and will live up to the expectations of the Homeowners and the community. Honest and ethical behavior in all matters relating to professional and personal dealings with community activities will contribute significantly to achieving these goals.
Our reputation is built on community trust and confidence and the expectation that they can depend on their Board of Directors. Board Members must avoid conflicts of interest or even the appearance of conflicts of interest. Such conflicts could damage the Board of Director’s reputation. Generally, a conflict of interest occurs when an individual’s private interest or those of his immediate family interferes or receives personal gain in any way, or even appears to interfere or receive personal gain with community business.
Board Members may be exposed to confidential or important information regarding business transactions in our community. Every Board Member is obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the information entrusted to them by the election to office by the community. Therefore, each Board Member should exercise care not to discuss confidential issues in public areas or in casual conversation.
